 ABOUT James JR Reeves

James "J.R." Reeves has a distinguished career as a senior government and corporate executive, where he has played pivotal roles in public service and corporate leadership. As a Federal CIO, he has operated under the directives of the OMB and OPM, managing the cybersecurity posture of Federal agencies, contributing to the Risk Management Council, and leading the CIO Council. His leadership has ensured the efficient management of IT infrastructure while focusing on cost-efficiency and delivering value.

 

Mr. Reeves is committed to building diverse teams, combining government and contract talent to address the needs of IT operations. He has championed public-private and academic partnerships, working closely with universities and maintaining strong relationships with both large corporations and small, disadvantaged businesses. His teams are known for their diversity in terms of age, gender, experience, and technical expertise.

 

In addition to his leadership roles, Mr. Reeves has been instrumental in developing IT Strategic Plans and managing IT as a key organizational resource. He has overseen all aspects of IT budgeting, resource management, and project execution. His project management expertise includes creating long-term work plans, addressing budgetary challenges, and developing the Agency’s CPIC program. He has also led the 24/7 IT Operations for a global network spanning multiple component networks.

 

Notably, Mr. Reeves secured $6.5 million in funding for IT initiatives through the TMF, successfully advocating for the Agency’s needs in a competitive federal environment.
